You have a loving relationship, but you keep running into the same conflicts and having the same conversations over and over again. Nothing changes. Your partner doesn’t seem to really understand you or get what you are saying. They hear your words, but actions don’t follow. You feel disconnected, frustrated, exhausted, and alone. You want to make it work, but you don’t know what to do anymore.
You can learn how to have a better relationship. Whether you’re navigating change, recovering from a betrayal, deciding what your future will look like, or simply trying to have fewer bumps in your shared daily life, we’ll work together to improve your communication and understand what each of you needs and is missing. You will feel seen, heard, and understood—and so will your partner. This is couples therapy beyond the “conflict du jour”; this is therapy for lasting change.

In addition to my professional training, my approach is informed by my background as a yoga and mindfulness/meditation teacher. The yogic principle of svadhyaya means self-study. One of the five niyamas or tools in yogic philosophy, svadhyaya invites us to look inward and reflect, to notice our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgement. This gentle, mindful practice is essential to our growth, and facilitates the therapeutic process. Let’s get curious.
I have participated in multiple clinical fellowships and trainings beyond my graduate work. I hold a certificate in couples therapy from a psychoanalytic training institute, and I primarily practice emotionally-focused therapy (EFT) with couples. EFT is a rooted approach that addresses the deeper, underlying issues that contribute to distress, and it can help create enduring change. We will work to better understand what is going on in your relationship so that you can work together as a couple day-to-day, beyond the specifics of the conflicts that brought you into couples therapy.
I currently offer telehealth sessions throughout NYS. I hope to offer some in-person treatment hours in the NYC area in the future. If you are coming to treatment with another person, and if it is possible, I highly recommend efforts be made to be in the same room as them for your appointments. It will really change how the exercises feel.
I am credentialed with Aetna through Headway, and I reserve a portion of my practice for people who want or need to use their Aetna insurance. Please contact me to discuss my fees, and your specific situation. I offer a sliding scale for those who cannot afford the full fee. If it’s a good fit, I’m happy to arrange a fee that will work well for you.
I do. Please reach out to schedule a free consultation. This is the best way to determine whether or not I am the right fit for your needs.
Research has shown that good therapy most depends upon a good fit between you and your therapist. I offer a free consultation so that you can get a feel for how I work and bring forth your questions and concerns.
